One portion of my role at NetApp is to share with the community the capabilities and value of our storage technologies, especially the ones engineered and optimized for cloud deployments. Doing so inevitably leads to skepticism from our competitors which makes sense as we are competing for the mind and market share of our customers.
Every storage platform has a set of similarities; I mean let’s be frank, in the end they all serve data. Yet each also has a set of unique capabilities which may strengthen or weaken the value of a particular platform within a specific solution or architecture.
It must be tough as a potential customer, storage analyst, or technical enthusiast to be able to decipher the truth in claims such as, “NetApp is redefining the storage industry with storage efficiencies specifically designed for production workloads within cloud deployments.”
It’s with this question in mind that I would like to share with you what I expect is my last word on the subject in 2010…
A special thanks to Doug for sending this link my way. Happy holidays!
