Today NetApp joined the Open Virtualization Alliance (OVA), a consortium committed to fostering the adoption of open virtualization technologies including Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM). Global membership in the OVA exceeds 200 members and is experiencing rapid growth in participation from companies focused on cloud computing and emerging markets around the globe.

It’s my privilege to represent NetApp in the OVA. The alliance is committed to fostering the adoption of KVM as an enterprise ready open virtualization solution through the development of marketing and educational content and activities. We also plan to encourage the development of a third-party ecosystem integrations designed to enhance the capabilities and benefits of KVM. The future of KVM is looking pretty exciting!

If you’re a fan of KVM, you may want to check out the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.0 beta, which is available now.
